History of Growth

Established in 1975 in London, UK, JAC Group has now expanded its recruitment and related businesses globally.

Especially since the deregulation resulting from the 1999 amendment to the Employment Security Act, our recruitment business in Japan has grown steadily amidst a trend of domestic companies increasing mid-career hiring, even while weathering waves of economic fluctuation such as the 2008 financial crisis and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. In 2018, we incorporated overseas operations and established a foundation for globalisation.

Moving forward, we will continue to contribute to the sustainable development of the global economy and society, as well as the realisation of a world where everyone can live a vibrant life, through high-quality recruitment consulting services.

Market Growth is Accelerating

The mid-career recruitment market in Japan is a growing market, and its growth is accelerating.

Looking at the changes in the total number of placements for the three major Japanese recruitment agencies, the number of placements has grown by 12.4% over the past 10 years and by 15.2% over the past three years. The market for candidates aged 41 and older, on which we focus, has been particularly strong, growing by 29.8% in FY2024.

Now Japan’s workforce is shrinking, and there is increasing demand for the ideal allocation of human resources. For this reason, we expect steady growth in the recruitment market, particularly the highly specialised high-level human resource market we focus on.
